“Handmade for the Holidays” Craft Fair
December 9, 2017 @ 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
- « LaFF’s 13th Annual Breakfast with Santa – Ladysmith
- Nan-Lady Schools Foundation (NLSF) Craft Fair »
Island holiday shoppers will want to circle December 9th on the calendar this year. That’s the date Nanaimo-Ladysmith Schools Foundation (NLSF) is holding its second annual holiday craft fair from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Nanaimo District Secondary School, located at 355 Wakesiah Avenue.
The fair will feature handmade crafts from over 70 Island-based artisans. Entrance is free, though donations will be taken at the door. While adults browse crafts like handmade cards, decorations, scarves, jewelry, soap and candles, children can head to a special station to write a letter to Santa which they can take home for their own hearth or leave to be mailed to the North Pole.
Food trucks will be on site for hungry shoppers, and raffles will be held for a variety of gift baskets, many with items donated by the vendors. Proceeds from the entrance donations, table rentals and raffles will benefit the NLSF’s student support program to help local school children living in poverty.
For more information on the craft fair, check out NLSF’s Facebook page. Anyone interested in volunteering for NLSF is welcome to contact nlsfevents [at] gmail [dot] com.
About Nanaimo-Ladysmith Schools Foundation
Nanaimo-Ladysmith Schools Foundation is a community-based registered charity that raises money and awareness to help vulnerable students in School District 68, which historically has a high child poverty rate. While the original purpose was to raise funds for scholarships and bursaries, the Foundation’s mission has expanded over the years to helping provide school meals, school supplies, clothing, gym shoes, school fees and other basic needs of children living in poverty.
