Hot artists and hot grooves are on the menu in August when the Nanaimo Conservatory of Music serves up its annual Jazzy feast. On August 7 at 7:30 pm some of the top names in Canadian jazz will grace the newly managed stage at the Harbour City Theatre at 25 Victoria Road, formerly Nanaimo Centre Stage.
Led by Nanaimo’s own 2014 JUNO award winner Christine Jensen, this concert of great Canadian Jazz artists will feature Jensen and her partner Joel Miller on saxophone, the groove-master, Ken Lister on bass, Pamela York, a native Vancouver Islander who now lives and teaches in Texas, on piano and vocals, along with hot guest artists to round out the event.
