Traditional Family Fiddle Barn Dance at Cedar Community Hall, Nanaimo
Friday, September 20, 2019 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm (doors 6:30 pm)
Ages 1 – 99.
$5 per person at door. Children under 5 are free.
Dance experience is not necessary and all dances will be taught and called in circles and lines. This is not a square dance and a partner is not needed although fun to have. This barn dance features a LIVE fiddle band and an experienced caller. For safety, children under 3 will dance in parents’ arms.
A point of interest: there are several fiddlers in the live fiddle band who hail from Ladysmith, Chemainus, Saltair and Yellowpoint.
Come on out and enjoy an evening of LIVE, toe-tappin’ traditional fiddle tunes. There will be many traditional fun Canadian Prairie dances taught during the evening.
This is a memorable West Coast evening for seniors, singles, couples, grandparents, and families young and old. This is a family-friendly, non-alcohol event, perfect for entertaining visitors or celebrating a special birthday or anniversary!
People who prefer not to dance are most welcome to sit back and enjoy an evening of lively Celtic – Cape Breton- Quebecois – fiddle music.
Warning: fiddle music can cause spontaneous hand clapping and toe tapping!
Bring a water bottle and a smile. People who wear something western will receive a friendly shout-out from the fiddle band.
