You may have noticed that TAKE 5 has gone wild this month. This is our “green” issue celebrating Earth Day, April 22.
Inside you will read about local wildlife, tips for a greener future, community clean-ups, and news about rebates to save money and energy. A big thank you to Bob Burgess for his fantastic wildlife photos and to Kerith Waddington, who does a great job with our feature stories.
Also, in this issue, we visit a dedicated group of volunteers to see how the restoration work on Dorothy, a significant maritime artifact, is progressing. These volunteers belong to the Ladysmith Maritime Society, which is navigating an uncertain future.
And just in time for Easter, a local farm celebrates the rare birth of quadruplet lambs.
I want to dedicate this issue to Gord Barney, a regular cartoonist for TAKE 5. We had the joy of working with him on a series of videos. We will be releasing more in the future. He was a great storyteller and had a larger-than-life personality. He will be missed greatly by us all.
Happy Easter and Happy Earth Day.
