Welcome to the November issue of TAKE 5. This jam-packed month with craft shows, artisan tours, and seasonal entertainment will get any humbugged into the spirit of Christmas. Of course, the big event that kicks everything off is the Ladysmith Festival of Lights on Nov 28. Come early, do some shopping and have dinner in town. There is nothing nicer than seeing the looks of delight on children ‘s faces. I have been coming to “Light Up” since 1989, and it never gets old.
This is the time of year when our local business and arts community need our support. Please consider shopping locally where you can. It will help us all get through the lean post-Christmas months. Mark the Cedar Yellow Point Artisan Country Christmas Tour on your calendar.
While this is the season for shopping, it also means that scam artists will be out in full force. Check out our story “Don’t be Duped”, and stay safe.
We thank Kerith Waddington and the fine folks at Ladysmith Archives for putting together the Royal Canadian Air Force story in our Remembrance Day section.
Also, in this issue, Marc Edge offers a solution that may save Canadian media during a time of significant challenges.
We thank all our talented writers, photographers and advertisers for supporting TAKE 5 and believing in local independent journalism.
