It’s tomato season. And if you do not grow them or do not have friends who do, it is hard to explain the blissful pop of summer sweetness on your tongue. Indeed, that could be said for most fresh off the vine fruits and vegetables. Luckily, we have one of the best Farmers Markets on Vancouver Island, here in Cedar every Sunday.
We are blessed with locally produced foods (but we need more!!) and wines. August marks the start of the Cowichan Valley Wine Festival, and the opportunity to visit local wineries.
It’s also your last month to catch the Concerts In the Park series at Transfer Beach Amphitheatre.
As we wrap up this edition of TAKE 5, I am already planning for the many beaches I will visit this month.
I encourage you to do the same. We live on an Island where access to the ocean is always close by.
