Sailpast Saturday, May 7 the Ladysmith Yacht Club is celebrating their Opening Day & Sailpast, a tradition that began nearly 200 years ago. Everyone is invited to this FREE event at Transfer Beach Park. Red Dress Day May 5 is national Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous women and girls. Watch for local initiatives in the community and remember to hang your red dress as a sign of solidarity.
In acknowledgement of Earth Day on April 22 a “green” thread runs through the latest TAKE 5. There is a lot of good work being done for the planet locally and abroad. Individuals, groups, businesses and governments are making changes in positive ways.

HERE IT COMES! The Ladysmith Festival of Lights is back but without the events. I know I speak for others as well when I say that a walk through downtown with a stop for a treat (or two!) is a highlight (pun intended) of my holidays. So let’s keep that sparkle of enthusiasm growing as the holidays near, and be grateful for the bounty we have.
